Tal vez una cinta amarilla no signifique nada para más de la mitad de la población del planeta. Lo que pudiera ser solo una prenda para acompañar el vestuario, un regalo, o algo incluso para marcar el perímetro de una escena del crimen, es, desde este 4 de septiembre, un símbolo más que une a dos pueblos “aparentemente distantes”, pero bien unidos: Cuba y Estados Unidos.

Maybe a yellow ribbon means nothing for more than half of the world's population. What may be just a piece to accompany the wear, a gift, or something even to mark the perimeter of a crime scene, is, since this September 4th, another symbol that unites two peoples "seemingly distant" but well together: Cuba and the United States.

Tomando como punto de partida una historia de amor estadounidense, René González, cubano cien por ciento que nació en ese país de Norteamérica, pidió a sus coterráneos en Cuba atar una cinta amarilla a cualquier lugar este 12 de septiembre, como señal de solidaridad con la causa de los CINCO.

De esa forma, aquellos extranjeros que visiten la Isla se preguntarán por este gesto, y podrán trasmitir al mundo que con cintas amarillas Cuba espera a sus hijos.

Por eso convocamos a todos los cubanos y amigos de Cuba, estén donde estén, a colocar una cinta amarilla en señal de solidaridad con René González, Antonio Guerrero, Gerardo Hernández, Fernando González y Ramón Labañino.

Taking as starting point an USA love story, René González, a one hundred percent Cuban, born in USA, called on his countrymen in Cuba tie a yellow ribbon to any place this September 12 as a sign of solidarity with the cause of Cuban FIVE.
Thus, those foreigners who visit the island, will wonder about this gesture, and will convey to the world that Cuba hopes their children with a yellow ribbons tie to an oak tree.

So we call on all Cubans and Cuba friends, wherever they are, to put a yellow ribbon in solidarity with Rene Gonzalez, Antonio Guerrero, Gerardo Hernández, Fernando González and Ramón Labañino.
